School Indoctrination

There has been much talk lately about Academia Semillas del Pueblo. They are in hot water for their policies, the recent violence against a reporter, and for the sources of some of their funding. Michelle Malkin has all the info here & here.

Indoctrination is nothing new in American schools. For years, even since 9/11, there are Islamic schools in the United States teaching hate against America and intolerance for other religions. Both Fox News & The Washington Post have articles about the schools.

Ali Al-Ahmed, whose Virginia-based Saudi Institute promotes religious tolerance in Saudi Arabia, has reviewed numerous textbooks used at the academy and said many passages promote hatred of non-Muslims and Shiite Muslims.
The 11th-grade textbook, for example, says one sign of the Day of Judgment will be that Muslims will fight and kill Jews, who will hide behind trees that say: “Oh Muslim, Oh servant of God, here is a Jew hiding behind me. Come here and kill him.”
Several students of different ages, all of whom asked not to be identified, said that in Islamic studies, they are taught that it is better to shun and even to dislike Christians, Jews and Shiite Muslims.
Some teachers “focus more on hatred,” said one teenager, who recited by memory the signs of the coming of the Day of Judgment. “They teach students that whatever is kuffar [non-Muslim], it is okay for you” to hurt or steal from that person.

America is supposed to be the land of tolerance and democracy. How long will we keep those two cherished rights if we choose not to protect them. Americans are too afraid to offend. If it becomes more important to protect a persons feelings over their freedoms, we will surely fall. While we are teaching tolerance in our classrooms, and forcing our school teachers to attend sensitivity classes, other groups are being taught hate for us and our way of life.

America isn't alone in its tolerance. France & England are also teaching tolerance against those who violently attack them. What if school children were taught tolerance for Hitler and the Nazis in the early 1940's?

In Saudi Arabia the textbooks teach "hatred toward Christians and Jews and Muslims who do not follow Wahhabi doctrine". This is after all traces of intolerance have supposedly been removed. This indoctrination begins in a first-grade text and is reinforced and expanded each year, culminating in a 12th-grade text instructing students that their religious obligation includes waging jihad against the infidel to "spread the faith." In the fifth grade students are taught, "It is forbidden for a Muslim to be a loyal friend to someone who does not believe in God and His Prophet, or someone who fights the religion of Islam." In the eighth grade, "As cited in Ibn Abbas: The apes are Jews, the people of the Sabbath; while the swine are the Christians, the infidels of the communion of Jesus." Read about it here or here.

If you think this is okay, or that it is none of our business because the schools are in Saudi Arabia think again, Saudi Arabia runs academies in 19 world capitals, including one outside Washington in Fairfax County Virginia, that use these same religious texts.
