The Boycott Looms
It is all over the t.v., the blogosphere is buzzing with it, the radio and newpapers are all telling of the Great American Boycott planned for tomorrow. The illegal immigrants and many other groups are planning to cripple the United States in order to scare up Amnesty for illegal aliens. I'm sure this is going to be huge. Millions will attend marches and rallies all across America. Some figures even estimate tens of millions. I still wonder at the intentions of any group of people trying to cripple the country they claim to want to be a part of.
Nick Leiber of Business Week has an interesting article about the boycott, in which he fails to use the term 'illegal' even once. He does say undocumented workers one time, but mostly he refers to the illegal aliens simply as immigrants. His article's headline says: MAY DAY PROTEST GARNERS SUPPORT The article itself seems to support the boycott.
La Ventanita at Wall Street Cafe has a great idea for May 1st.
"All Americans who support LEGAL immigration but demand that all immigrants RESPECT our law are asked to act on May 1st. Wear RED or BLUE that day (They will be wearing white), and go SHOPPING.If you have to grocery shop, make it May 1st. Need gas in your car? Fill it up May 1st. Buy Mother's Day gifts, buy summer clothes, buy that new car you've been thinking about, whatever you need, but BUY May 1st.American citizens outnumber illegal immigrants, and we MUST make ourselves heard. Wear red or blue to show your pride in your country, and your opposition to weak border and amnesty legislation. And GO SHOPPING! Let's make May 1st a day to remember, and remind Congress that the illegal immigrants can't vote. We can. And we will."

For those of you who don't know, the communist party is a huge supporter of the May 1st boycott. No big surprise there. The communist party will support any attempt to cripple our economy and disrupt major cities. Just remember, 11 million illegal may seem like a huge group of people, but we are still the majority. The majority of us are going to work, or school tomorrow. The majority of us support immigration, but not illegal immigration. We would rather see the laws upheld, not trampled on.
Freedom should be a right enjoyed by all people, but not something that is blackmailed from Congress with scare tactics.

May 1 Boycott
I have added my comments in red, the exerpts from the
article are in black.

I understand the right to free speech and assembly, but how can this many people not see that illegals should not be demanding anything. If Congress caves to the demands of illegal immigrants or anyone else breaking the law, then it is time for us to do something about our government.
“We're going to close down Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Tucson, Phoenix, Fresno," said Jorge Rodriguez, a union official...”
This is meant to prove that you will be good citizens? These people don’t care anything about the well-being of this country. If they did, they would not be trying to close down, hurt, or disrupt our cities, this country, or the lives of legal Americans.“Organizers vow that America's major cities will grind to a halt and its economy will stagger as Latinos walk off their jobs and skip school.”
Again... they want to cripple our economy. Am I the only one who doesn’t think that sounds like people with good intentions. These so called “guest workers” aren’t acting very much like guests.
“In California on Thursday, the state senate passed a resolution recognizing "The Great American Boycott of 2006," saying it would educate the United States about the contributions made by immigrants. The measure passed 24-13 along party lines with dissenting Republicans arguing that it sanctioned lawbreaking and encouraged children to skip school.”
Are you kidding me? Has everyone lost their minds? The senate is encouraging these illegals to cripple our economy. How about the INS taking a little field trip down to some of these rallies and doing a little rounding up!! It seems to me the “dissenting Republicans” are the only ones who are saying anything that makes sense.

All I have to say about this one is “GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS” Those of us who do pay taxes are paying for the indocrination of our children. I wonder how many people know their tax money pays for school buses to bus these kids to politically left rallies. They are bussing them to these illegal alien rallies and they have done it before for the anti bush ralliesWell I’m sure the marches will stir up anti Illegal immigrant sentiment. How many more times are we going to watch the American flag being taken down and replaced with a Mexican flag before we start doing something about it? How many more times do we have to hear about kids being punished in public school for refusing to sing the Mexican National Anthem(Chicago), how much longer will we tolerate criminals demanding rights. Especially when these criminals are already getting food stamps, free medical care, free public education for their kids in tax payer funded public schools. How many more rights can we actually give them. And if the mayor of Los Angeles thinks they will be lawful & respectful he must be blind. They are already lawless just by being here illegally. And respectful went out the window when they started disrespecting American people, American laws, and the American flag.“In Washington on Thursday, immigrant-rights activists brushed off talk of a backlash.

Congress, Are you listening? Now is the time to act. Penalize those who hire illegal immigrants. Seal up the borders. No more welfare or handouts for illegals. Start taxing all wire transfers to Mexico from people who have no proof of legal residency. Make it more difficult for illegal aliens to get driver’s licenses. Change the law so a child born in America to an illegal alien is not automatically a citizen of the United States.

link promoting the “Great American Boycott” My favorite line from this one is: "Full equality for all workers and nothing less!” This is ironic...I wonder if they realize that full equality means they will have to start paying taxes!! Or how about this line “No human being is illegal”

The
CNN website reports that the boycott is spreading south of the border to Mexico. The headline screams: MEXICO CITY, Mexico (AP) -- "The Great American Boycott" is spreading south of the border, as activists call for Mexicans to boycott U.S. businesses on May 1.
Does this mean that for one day no one will be trying to sneak across the border?? Maybe the minutemen can take May 1st off too!!
