The Left Coast

I used to always hear that California might fall into the ocean. I think that time is here metaphorically. There were two new laws voted into existence in San Francisco on November 8th. The first was a city wide ban on handguns.
Supervisor Chris Daly, who proposed the measure, cited statistics that show most homocides in the city involve handguns. WOW!! This is one intelligent guy. In light of his recent discovery that murderers use guns, he proposed a law that now prevents people from protecting their own lives, and their families' lives as well. Citizens of San Francisco, what is wrong with you? You just voted to give up the right to protect yourselves!
Let's consider another city that already has a ban on guns. Washington D.C. seems to be doing okay. Just check out their crime statistics compared to the rest of the country.
A Washington Post article states:
"According to the FBI, the District has the highest violent
crime rate in the nation of any city over 500,000 people.
Its homicide rate is eight times higher than the rest of the
country and four times higher than similarly sized Ft. Worth,
Texas. The comparison is apt. Texas has some of the
most constitutional gun laws in the country."
In San Francisco, 58% of the voters wanted the gun ban, 42% voted against it. Current handgun owners will have to turn in their guns by April. I wonder how many of those murderers Mr. Daly was so surprised about will be turning in their guns along with the rest of the citizens?
The second measure voted in on November 8th was a ban on military recruiters in schools. The College not Combat organization was behind this proposition. Do San Franciscans recognize they are still part of this country?
Apparently the decision to ban recruiting in schools is due to gays feeling slighted by the military's 'Don't ask/Don't tell' policy. This is what Katrina Yeaw, organizer for the Campus Anti-War Network (CAN) at SF State said, "Now it's our turn here at SF State to tell the anti-gay military that they're not welcome on our campus." Oh, so it is a political statement. They want to hurt the military because the gays feel alienated.
I wonder if San Franciscans still expect the military to protect them, regardless of the message they sent with this new ban on military recruiting.
The propostion won with a 60%-40% vote. It had a lot of support from many organizations around San Francisco including American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, San Francisco & Al-Awda, San Francisco . Big supporters of the palestinians, who if you remember called for Israel to be wiped off the face of the earth. Another advocate was the San Francisco Mexican American Political Association, who took time out from bolstering illegal immigration to the U.S. to help slap our military in the face. Propostion I was also supported by several socialist organizations, such as Peace and Freedom Party & Freedom Socialist Party. It's a good thing none of these organizations have ulterior motives in damaging the United States military, or the U.S. in general.
If you want to call Mayor Gavin Newsome to congratulate him or ask him just what they are thinking out there, call (415) 554-6141, Fax (415) 554-6160, or email Mr. Newsome gavin.newsom@sfgov.org

California's Anti-Bush/Anti American Rallies

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at these rallies. The first was in SanFrancisco the anti-America protestors waved signs denouncing the 'Bush Regime' and those with pictures of Che Guevara. I just wonder if they know who they are supporting. These people obviously like murderous communists. They wave banners to show approval of Che, and they hate Bush, probably because he was responsible for the capture of Saddam Hussein. They had a definite Anti-America message as you can see from the above photograph.

The really disturbing part is how young all these protesters are. This is the future of our country??

San Francisco wasn't alone. There was a Bush-bashing rally being held in Los Angeles as well. It was called "The World Can't Wait – Drive Out the Bush Regime." Many attending the Los Angeles rally not only skipped school, chaperones were supplied, and buses were provided for them also. You got it...your hard earned taxes were spent for the whole thing. Makes you wonder what kind of education your kids are getting in government schools.

Here are some photos of the Los Angeles rally Try to ignore the fact that Regime is consistently spelled wrong. The kids who made this web page were probably on a school sponsored "field trip" the day they taught spelling.

When will they learn??

This is an exerpt from an interesting article by David Limbaugh I read today:
Fox's Bret Baier interviewed the army's Deputy Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. James Lovelace, who said a new IED training facility is opening in Iraq to prepare incoming soldiers for the ever-changing tactics of the enemy.
"We're making every opportunity to take lessons learned and within 24 hours be able to teach that and put that back out in the field so that the leaders and the soldiers know what they're up against," said Lovelace. He said that 40 percent of the IEDs are found and identified before they blow and the casualty rate for each attack is down 45 percent.
My immediate reaction, and I would hope that of most Americans, was, "Our brave soldiers are facing daunting challenges in Iraq from a ruthless enemy and are doing everything they can to overcome them. But above all, they're dedicated to the cause of Iraqi autonomy and freedom and American security."
That was not everyone's reaction. Fox's cameras next turned to Senate Democrats Barbara Boxer and Chris Dodd, who had just emerged from a meeting with the U.S. ambassador to Iraq and were chomping at the bit to slam the administration for its "lack of strategy" on Iraq.
Dodd said, "A lot more needs to be done to get this right or you're going to continue to see an erosion of support here at home and abroad for these policies which have no end in sight."
Boxer said, "There's a growing frustration, I think, on both sides of the aisle at how slowly the training of the Iraqi troops and police force is going."

Let's look first at what Dodd said "A lot more needs to be done to get this right or you're going to continue to see an erosion of support here at home and abroad for these policies which have no end in sight"
Does he even think about what he is saying? We teach our children to think before they speak, yet these liberal politicians don't know any better. I hear so much everyday coming from democrats who hate Bush so much they criticize everything American.
Any so-called 'erosion of support' would obviously stem from the constant barrage of Democrat's objections to the War on Terror, not from a lack of getting things done.
Let's look at what has been done. Saddam Hussein has been captured and is going on trial for his horrible crimes, Iraq has a new constitution, the Iraqi army is being trained to defend its country. Yes, maybe alot more does need to be done, but let us not forget that so much has already been accomplished.
Okay, now to address Ms. Boxer. She said, "There's a growing frustration, I think, on both sides of the aisle at how slowly the training of the Iraqi troops and police force is going." Just how slowly is the training going? These men have to endure constant worry of suicide bombings and attack from their enemy. How fast could you work under such conditions Ms. Boxer?? These men can't just call a 'closed door session'. They are in the real world.
I think there is a 'growing frustration' though not the one Barbara Boxer is referring to. I am growing frustrated with the people who supposedly run our country yet don't even like it. They only see partisan lines. They are themselves like little clones all chanting the Anti-Bush mantra. These politicians do more harm than good with their comments. Yet, I have not heard a solution from any of them.
